Your data in Lempile's people database

To help businesses find professional contacts, Lempile keeps a database of professionals found on LinkedIn. This page says what we hold, where it comes from, and how to remove yourself. Removing yourself takes one form and works at once.

Who we are

GBFS Holding SAS, in Rennes, France, runs Lempile and is responsible for this data. You can reach us at contact@lempile.com.

What we hold

Only professional information, as it appears on LinkedIn:

  • your name, your LinkedIn profile address and LinkedIn's id for it;
  • your headline and job title, your company, your location and your industry;
  • when you reacted to or commented on a public LinkedIn post: the post's link and the kind of reaction. Never the text of your comment;
  • for some people, a work email address found by an email-finding service. It is stored encrypted and is not shown in search results.

We don't hold private messages, phone numbers or sensitive information such as health, religion or political views.

Where it comes from

LinkedIn profiles and public posts that our own company's accounts came across in Looply, our prospecting product (looplyhq.com). We don't use what Looply's customers find with their own accounts.

Email addresses come from email-finding services, and our own server checks whether they work.

Why we use it

Lempile sells an API to businesses. Its People Search lets them find professionals who may be interested in what they offer, and its Email Finder helps them reach the right work address.

Our legal basis is legitimate interest, ours and our customers', in business-to-business prospecting (Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR). We weighed it against your interests: we keep only professional information, you can remove yourself at any time in one step, and we delete old data on a fixed schedule.

Who can see it

Business customers of Lempile's People Search can see your professional details: name, title, company, location and LinkedIn link. Email addresses are not shown in search results. We don't sell the database as a file.

The database is hosted in the European Union, on Hetzner servers in Finland. Customers who use the API may be outside the European Union.

How long we keep it

We delete your record 3 years after we last saw your profile. An email address we haven't verified is deleted 12 months after we found it.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you and where each part came from, have it corrected, object to its use, or have it deleted.

To be removed, use the form below: it works at once. For anything else, write to contact@lempile.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the CNIL, France's data protection authority (cnil.fr).

Remove me

Give your LinkedIn profile link, your work email, or both. We delete what we hold about you and make sure you are never added again.

We keep only a scrambled copy of what you enter, so we can recognize you and never add you back. We don't tell anyone whether you were in the database.
