Next to X's own API

When real accounts beat pay-per-use.

Since 6 February 2026, X's developer API sells pay-per-use credits: $0.015 a post, $0.20 for a post with a link, $0.005 for each post read. Since 20 April 2026, no self-serve plan offers follows, likes or quote posts.

If your product publishes links, likes or follows for its users, acting from their own accounts at a flat price per account can cost less and does more. For reading public data at scale, X's own API is often the better fit.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Is this X's official API?
No. It acts from your users' real X accounts, each in its own browser session on its own IP, rather than through X's developer API. That's how it can like and follow, which X removed from its self-serve API plans in April 2026.
How is it priced?
Per connected account, the same as LinkedIn accounts on Lempile: €49 a month for up to 10 accounts, then €5.00 down to €3.00 per account, with no per-call fees. X's own API is pay-per-use instead.
How much can an account post?
Each account writes at a human pace: posts, replies and Articles go out at least 45 seconds apart, 70 in 24 hours at most. Replies to people who answered the account have their own 200 a day.
Will X restrict the accounts I connect?
No API can promise it won't. X's automation rules, updated in April 2026, ask developers not to automate X by scripting its website, warn that accounts doing so may be permanently suspended, and don't allow automated likes. Lempile keeps each account in its own browser, on its own IP and at a human pace, but the account's owner takes on that risk, so connect only accounts whose owners know it.
